A vintage lover with a soul for small southern towns, Catherine Joyce is a product of her North Carolinian roots. Her desire to serve others locally and abroad, as well as show compassion towards the less fortunate is a result of not only her upbringing and past experiences within the industry, but also her future career goals.
Catherine is a NC State Alumni, with a B.S. in Fashion and Textile Design. During her time there, she cultivated experiences that ultimately broadened her perspective.
Through internships, study abroad ventures, and leadership roles, she gained valuable transferable skills. Her most recent experience was interning with Lolly Wolly Doodle, a ladies and children’s boutique based in Lexington, NC.
Working with the Product Development Department, she was able to apply and develop her skill set with Gerber and Adobe Illustrator programs through sublimation.
Previous to this, Catherine studied abroad at the London College of Fashion where she took coursework focused on other sectors of the industry including millinery, shoemaking, and styling.
Additionally, she has also had the opportunity to intern for Hunter Bell in New York City and Industries of the Blind in Greensboro, NC. The opportunity to source fabrics, obtain samples, and work one-on-one with Manhattan-based production allowed her to experience the process of domestic supply chains.
That learning opportunity provided insight to her recent trip to Hong Kong, where she participated in a study abroad trip. Focusing on international supply chain, the group visited Ralph Lauren flagship stores, sourcing offices, and vendor factories.
Through each of these experiences, the foundation was laid for her interest to be sparked in cross-cultural communication, craftsmanship, and sourcing.
Looking forward to the next chapter, Catherine plans to pursue entrepreneurial and collaborative experiences. She believes her strongest characteristics are working with others, coordinating, organization, tactfulness, and acting as a peacemaker. The various opportunities that she has been blessed to partake in, have instilled within her adaptability and leadership. Not only is she dependable and time conscious, but also respectful. By working in retail, she has enhanced these experiences by learning customer service skills including listening, responding, buyer experience, and add-on selling.
